Australians are amongst the first in the region to benefit from the breakthrough use of naturally occurring bacteria to attack washroom waste, blockages and unpleasant odours.
Pink Hygiene Solutions has declared biological warfare on washrooms using a unique suite of products that are derived from living organisms that are non-acidic and non-alkali, making them safe in all systems and safe to handle.
“Biological products are more effective than traditional chemicals as the bacteria inhibits the growth of non-beneficial bacteria by removing their food source while breaking down scale, uric acid salts and other biofilms,” said Vivian Oppl, Marketing and Communications Manager of PINK.
“PINK favours the Ecogreen biological products as they work effectively, provide an environmental benefit, prevent the use of harmful poisons and provide a safer alternative for our service staff.”
For a year PINK has been exclusively trialling the Ecogreen Australian made products which blend eight strains of bacteria specifically selected for their individual roles in waste degradation in the treatment of urinal and toilet systems.

The naturally sourced and environmentally friendly products work in the system continuously, allowing for a shelf life of up to 18 months maintaining healthy colonies of effective bacteria. Each time the system is flushed additional bacteria is introduced into the toilet system. The technology used to blend and sustain the bacteria strains is unique in Australasia and was adapted from the use of biological products in other industry sectors.
The product is perfect for use in waterless urinals. In water consuming systems the flush cycle can be adjusted to allow for reductions in water usage of up to 95%.
The biological solution is not just environmentally friendly; it provides a further benefit to the environment by the early commencement of the remediation process of the waste. It also prevents the introduction of harsh and dangerous chemicals into the sewerage system and does not give off noxious gases.
PINK’s Ecogreen range comprises a full suite of washroom products including bio sanitisers and concentrates plus natural fragrant oils and gels. The Ecogreen CleanAir product is also unique in its ability to use scientifically blended oils to attack airborne and surface germ carrying bacteria cells.
Tests carried out by an independent laboratory in NSW showed that the CleanAir product effectively killed 98% of airborne bacteria after a six hour exposure time in a controlled environment.
